What is Essentials Week
“Essentials Week” is the week between Christmas and New Year’s. While Filmhub is open this week, we want our employees to enjoy the holiday season.
The simple rule is that if it’s not essential, it’s not required to get done this week.
What is Expected During Essentials Week
If you have not taken a vacation that week and are actively working, we ask that you focus on essential tasks necessary for the company’s smooth operation. If you want to get some work done, make sure it is fun/intriguing/invigorating for you. Here are some examples of what we consider essential tasks:
- QC of submitted titles
- Delivery of titles to channels
- Uploading weekly sales imports
- Triggering payroll for employees and contractors
- Engineering On-Call
- Etc.
Essential tasks include responding to urgent client inquiries, ensuring all our services are up and running, and managing any emergencies that may arise. If you have questions about what are essential activities, please speak directly with your team lead.
However, to ensure everyone can enjoy the holiday season, we will not schedule any internal meetings this week, including weekly check-ins and 1:1 meetings. Also, avoid scheduling external meetings unless necessary (live or die situation).
We encourage everyone to use this time to complete necessary tasks, relax, and enjoy the holiday season. Your well-being is important to us, and we believe this balance between work and rest is crucial for maintaining a healthy and productive work environment.
